Jessup Correctional Institution

Jessup Correctional Iinstitution (JCI) is a maximum security prison operated by the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. It is located in Jessup Maryland.

Inmates have a library that they can use for legal research, writing letters and leisure reading. JCI has a college program called the Proson Scholars Program. In August of 2016, the University of Baltimore has begun offering bachelor’s degrees to JCI inmates in Community Studies and Civic Engagement.
